Summer may be at anend, but there is still important work to be done at the fen before brushcutting season is upon us.
We’ll meet at 4:30pm this coming Tuesday, September 27. On the agenda: purpleloosestrife attack! We’ll hurry to remove the developing seed-heads of thisnasty invasive, and treat its stems to ensure it doesn’t return. As we work,we’ll discuss plans for fall and winter restoration days at the fen.
Meet at the west end of Palmer Drive (west of Trevino).
RSVP to kishfenfriends@gmail.comso we can bring the right number of tools, etc.
Things to know before you come:
- If you are not fully vaccinated, wear a mask if unable to social distance from others at the site.
- Bring water and a snack. Dress for the wilderness – this should include sturdy boots or shoes, a hat, bug spray, and sunscreen. Long pants and a long sleeve shirt are suggested.
- We work hard, but at our own pace, and we often take breaks to share snacks and share ideas and nature with each other.
